Sea Inside Psychology offers trauma-informed, depth-oriented therapy for people who want clarity, emotional grounding, and meaningful personal growth.

Based in Newcastle, NSW and available Australia-wide via Telehealth, the practice integrates EMDR, somatic therapy, and psychosexual therapy with evidence-based psychological care. The focus is not on symptom-management alone, but on cultivating self-awareness, healthy relationships, and a more regulated nervous system.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, intimacy blocks, self-doubt, perfectionism, or the emotional residue of past experiences, therapy here is spacious, respectful, and attuned to the whole person — mind, body, and story.

In-person sessions are held in Lambton. Online sessions available Australia-wide.

Our approach

At Sea Inside Psychology, therapy is relational, embodied, and tailored to the individual — not a one-size-fits-all model.

We draw from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, psychosexual therapy, and trauma-informed practice to support emotional regulation, nervous system healing, and deeper self-connection.

Rather than treating symptoms in isolation, we explore how the body, relationships, attachment history, identity, and sexuality interact to shape mental health. This approach is especially helpful for people who want to:

  • understand patterns in relationships and intimacy

  • process past experiences without re-traumatisation

  • feel more grounded in their body and emotions

  • work through anxiety, burnout, shame, or self-criticism

  • develop a clearer sense of identity, boundaries, and desire

Sessions are available in-person in Newcastle (Lambton) or online across Australia, offering flexibility for professionals, carers, and clients balancing full lives.

Terri Skibowski (she/her) is a Registered Psychologist and the owner of Sea Inside Psychology. She is known for her calm, regulating presence and her ability to create a therapeutic space that feels safe, grounded, and deeply respectful of each person’s pace.

Terri’s practice is shaped by trauma-informed care and blends EMDR, somatic therapy, and relational approaches. Her work supports clients to release what is stuck, develop emotional clarity, and move toward a more regulated and connected sense of self.

Alongside her clinical work, Terri is completing postgraduate studies in Psychosexual Therapy at the University of Sydney, with a focus on how trauma intersects with intimacy, sexuality, desire, and embodiment.

She has experience working with adults navigating complex trauma, anxiety, relationship patterns, body-based distress, and identity-related challenges. Her practice is inclusive of First Nations people, LGBTQIA+ communities, women, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
